Concussion substitute Marnus Labuschagne played a match-winning knock for Australia to beat South African captain Temba Bavuma’s unbeaten century in the first One Day International (ODI) at Mangong Oval on Thursday.
Bavuma played an unbeaten inning of 114 runs as South Africa were all out for 222 runs.
It seemed more than enough as Australia, batting with ultra-aggressive intent, were bowled out for 113 for seven in the 17th over.
But batting at number eight in place of Cameron Green, Labushen calmed the Australian innings by scoring an unbeaten 80 runs.
