The CAB in its report on Saturday said non-food inflation has hit the middle class more than food inflation in Dhaka.
Increase in prices of non-food items, such as electricity, soaps, hygiene products, personal hygiene items, mosquito coils, sprays, clothing and footwear, and increase in transportation costs are mainly responsible for the rise in overall inflation.
People in rural areas faced less hardship due to social security programmes.
