In this context, Mamun appealed to the High Court to direct Sohail Rana to appear before the court and explain his position on disobeying the High Court order.
Later, the HC summoned Sohail Rana on August 14 and asked him to appear before the court on August 21 and explain his position. He appeared before the court and later submitted his explanation.
The High Court issued a suo motu ruling on August 28 as the explanation was not considered satisfactory by the court. He was also ordered to appear in the court again on October 9.
On August 31, Sohail Rana withdrew the indictment order in the case after contempt of court order.
Following the rules, Sohail Rana apologized unconditionally but rejecting the appeal, the court sentenced him to imprisonment.
