A couple was killed when their private car plunged into a road side ditch near Jamuna Bridge Toll Plaza here under East Zone Thana early Saturday.The deceased were identified as Tareque Bin Rashid, 55, security in-charge of Jamuna resort and his wife Farhana Munmun, 40, hailed from Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar district.
Police said when Tareque along with his wife was going for a pleasure trip in a nearby resort area driving the private car, suddenly he lost control over the steering and the vehicle plunged into the ditch leaving the duo dead on the spot at around 12:30am
On information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies.
