Court orders confiscation of ex-IGP Benazir Ahmed's 4 Gulshan flats and properties under 133 deed

Benazir Ahmed was the IGP from 15 April 2020 to 30 September 2022. She also served as the Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion. The US imposed sanctions on seven former and current RAB officials, including then IGP Benazir Ahmed, for human rights abuses in December 2021.

The ACC investigation found that Benazir Ahmed, his wife, children and several relatives together owned about 114 acres or 345 bighas of land, with his wife Zeeshan Mirza owning the largest share.

PP Mahmud Hossain told Prothom Alo that no money can be withdrawn from the bank accounts opened in the names of Benazir, her wife and children. No property can be handed over to anyone and they will remain under court supervision.
