Masood Ahmed Talukdar, the lawyer for the two BNP leaders, confirmed this information to Prothom Alo.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas were brought to the court after hours of questioning at the Detective Branch (DB) office around 4:10 pm on Friday.
Meanwhile, pro-BNP lawyers took positions in the court premises and started raising slogans demanding the release of the two BNP leaders. A large number of police also took charge there.
According to court sources, in the Paltan police station case, the police has filed a petition to keep Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas in jail. The court heard the petition and passed the order.
