After 47 years, in connection with the murder of Colonel Khandkar Najmul Huda Bir Bikram, a murder case was registered at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in the capital on Wednesday night.
The case was filed by Nahid Izhar Khan, daughter of late Colonel Khandkar Najmul Huda, accusing Major (Retd) Abdul Jalil of the then 10 East Bengal Regiment and 20-25 unidentified people.
He also named BNP founder Ziaur Rehman in his First Information Report (FIR) as the mastermind behind ordering his killing.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station Utpal Kumar Baruah told reporters that Colonel Najmul Huda’s daughter has filed the case as a plaintiff. In the FIR, he alleged that on the orders of Ziaur Rehman, three army officers including Colonel Khandkar Najmul Huda Bir Bikram were murdered. The OC said retired Major Abdul Jalil along with 25 unidentified persons have been named as accused in the case.
