Earlier, sessions involving the three ministries under his purview were held with the DC.
The minister said the government is moving forward with a coordinated and time-bound action plan aimed at reviving the industrial sector, maintaining market stability and ensuring secure supply of essential commodities.
He said that reopening of closed and weak industrial units to increase production and employment is the major priority of the government.
During the session, the DC presented proposals based on local realities, including reviving industries, setting up new industrial areas and reopening closed sugar mills. The minister said that these proposals will be given due consideration.
Speaking about the activities of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), the Commerce Minister said that a strong advisory council will be formed, comprising experts from both public and private sectors.
He said the government also plans to introduce a modern, technology-driven (AI-based) supply chain monitoring system to reduce price disparities from producers to the retail level.
