On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of the Muslims, Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) has undertaken massive preparation for removing waste of sacrificial animals.
DCC sources said 11,500 workers would be engaged in removing waste from 90 wards of the metropolis, while 137 open trucks and 40 compactors will carry the waste. To this end, Dhaka city Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka told BSS today that the DCC has undertaken all sorts of measure to keep clean the city after Eid. As part of the steps, he said, Eid holidays of the Cleanliness and Waste Management Department of DCC have been cancelled. The department sources said three control rooms have been opened side by side with 10 zonal offices of the DCC to dispose of sacrificial animal waste. DHAKA, Nov 16 (BSS)
