According to Prothom Alo’s report, Shamim had left Malibaug for Pallabi on his motorcycle at 11:30 pm. As his motorcycle broke down on the road, he waded through the middle of the road due to waterlogging on the sides of the road and pushed it towards Hotel Sonargaon intersection. Meanwhile, a woman named Meem, who was already standing on the road, advised Shamim to go to the side.
As soon as he complied and shifted, two youths suddenly emerged from the shelter under the flyover and started stabbing him. Shamim tries to stop them. Just then, two motorcycles came from the opposite direction, prompting the assailants to speed away from the scene. However, Shamim successfully caught hold of the woman and dialed 999 to call the police.
The woman was taken into custody when law enforcement personnel arrived. After this, on the basis of the information given by the woman, the police caught several members of the robbery gang.
