He said that despite the current turmoil in international affairs, fruitful cooperation is developing between Moscow and Dhaka in many areas. “In 2023, Russian-Bangladeshi relations witnessed several milestones, such as the first visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Bangladesh in September, the nuclear fuel delivery ceremony at Rooppur NPP in October, with the virtual presence of President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Sheikh beautiful lady; “Goodwill visit of the Russian Pacific Fleet to Chattogram port in November.”
The Ambassador also recalled how Russia makes a significant contribution to the food security of Bangladesh, being one of the major suppliers of various agro-industrial products, primarily wheat and fertilizers. “In 2023, Russia’s grain exports to Bangladesh amount to 2.7 million tonnes.”
