Dhaka stocks continue to slide with few buyers

Only seven companies gained momentum on Thursday, the last working day of the week; The prices of 150 others declined and 154 remained unchanged.

Around 80 stocks and mutual funds did not change hands.

Most of the shares had very few takers, with a single transaction for 23.

A handful of companies saw growth, while only one of them, Asia Pacific Insurance, enjoyed a growth of over 5 per cent. The share price of Islamic Insurance rose 1.02 per cent while others were down below 1 per cent.

Due to the fall in share prices, the DSEX fell 13 points to 6,205 on Thursday from 6,270 on February 13. Thursday’s broad index is the lowest level since January 10.
