Dhaka University scored 23 in academic reputation, 2.9 in citations per faculty, 93.7 in employment outcomes, 45.6 in employer reputation, 11.2 in faculty-student ratio, 1.6 in international faculty ratio, 52 in international research network, 1 in international student ratio, and 11.8 in sustainability, giving it a total score of 22.4.
QS said on its website that various aspects are given weightage while preparing the rankings. Academic reputation is given 30 per cent, employer reputation 15 per cent, faculty-student ratio 10 per cent, citations per faculty 20 per cent, international faculty ratio, international student ratio, international research network, employability outcomes and sustainability are given 5 per cent weightage each.
Globally, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States retained its top spot in the rankings for the 13th consecutive year. Imperial College London in the United Kingdom secured the second spot, while the University of Oxford (UK) was third. Harvard University (USA) and the University of Cambridge (UK) secured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
The National University of Singapore was the only Asian university in the top 10, ranking 8th globally.
