On 15th August Dhaka university professor, Mridul Kanti Chakrobarty was admitted in LabAid hospital when he was completely dehydrated. Later he was died. His family alleges that he was not given immediate treatment.
On the same day another allegation raised against Ibn Sina hospital. Three newborn was died in the hospital. But the authority revealed it after three days. Even parents were not allowed to see those babies by the authority. Doctor’s negligence is blamed for their death.
Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh filed a public interest litigation writ petition in the high court and the court issued a show cause notice to those hospitals. The court also summoned the involved doctors and officials to appear before the court on the 23rd August.
The court also asked to form a committee within 14 days comprising representative form ministry of health, doctor from government hospital, professor of medical college and specialist doctors to make directives in this matter.
