The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw downward trend in early hours of trading on Sunday, the 1st session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 24.31 points or 0.49 per cent to 4,908.71 after the 1st 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The other 2 indices saw negative trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 8.98 points or 0.49 per cent to 1,814.65. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) declined 0.39 points or 0.39 per cent to stand at 1,155.78 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 198.19 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 55 advanced, 134 declined and 38 remained unchanged. RN Spinning Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 40.16 million changing hands till then followed by Agni System, Tung Hai Knitting, Summit Port Power and BD Thai Aluminum. The port city bourse – CSE – also saw negative trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – losing 63.75 points to 9,192.76, also at 11am.Of the issues traded till then, 36 gained, 108 declined and 15 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 17m.
