The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed upward trend while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw mixed trend in early hours of trading on Monday, the 2nd session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 11.24 points or 0.23 per cent to 4,860.93 after the 1st 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The other two indices saw positive trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 11.89 points or 0.66 per cent 1,802.31. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 4.42 points or 0.38 per cent to reach 1,148.65 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 253 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 105 advanced, 101 declined and 31 remained unchanged. Lafarge Surma Cement was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 43.54 million changing hands till then followed by Tung Knitting, Western Marine, MJL BD and RAK Ceramics. The share prices at the port city bourse – CSE – were mixed in early hour amid volatility with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – losing 6.44 points to 9,088.04, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 32 gained, 52 declined and 20 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 23m.
