The students demanded the resignation of Hall Provost Najmun Nahar, a professor in the Department of Geography and Environment, saying, “She doesn’t care about the students and is always busy with her personal affairs.”
On the condition of anonymity, one of the protesting students said, “The hall provost has been involved in several irregularities. It takes at least 15 days for us to receive a document signed by the Hall Provost, even if it is urgent. She charges Rs 4,000 from each student every year for allotting a seat, although this is not allowed by university rules.
