Those suspended include Naimur Rehman Durjoy of the Department of Anthropology and Saqib Firdous of the Department of International Trade. Both are members of the Proloy gang known for their criminal activities.
The university administration issued a notice in this regard on Tuesday. The notice also asked the suspended students to explain within the next seven days why they should not be expelled from the university.
He was arrested and sent to jail on Monday for assaulting a student of Dhaka University in front of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall on March 25.
