Earthquake tremors felt in the capital

Humayun Akhtar, a former professor at the Department of Geology at Dhaka University, said the earthquake was felt in two consecutive aftershocks and originated from Satkhira.

The tremors were also felt in other districts of West Bengal, India, where the intensity measured 5 on the Richter scale, according to media outlet Anandabazar Online.

Another tremor was felt in Dhaka and other parts of the country on Wednesday night. The intensity of that earthquake was measured at 5.1 on the Richter scale.

Its epicenter was in Myanmar and it was a moderate intensity earthquake.
