Earthquake tremors were felt in various parts of the country including the capital Dhaka. Earthquake tremors were felt twice after 9.30 pm on Tuesday night.
Both earthquakes came from Myanmar. The intensity of both earthquakes on the Richter scale was 5.9 and 5.2 respectively.
According to sources at the Earthquake Observation Center of the Meteorological Department, earthquake tremors were felt at many places across the country. Assistant meteorologist Farzana Sultana told Prothom Alo that the first tremor occurred at 9:34:01 pm Bangladesh time, whose intensity was 5.9 on the Richter scale. The second shock came at 9:51 pm, whose intensity was 5.2.
