Empowerment of Commons through Law (ELCOP) organized the 22nd Human Rights Summer School (HRSS) from October 17 to 27 at Proshika HRDC, Manikganj, a press release said.
The theme of this edition was ‘Human Rights and Human Security’.
About 42 participants from 19 universities from Bangladesh and Nepal have participated in this edition.
Chief Justice of Bangladesh Obaidul Hasan was present as the chief guest in the inaugural session.
Justice Hassan urged that the youth should play an important role in upholding justice for their less fortunate peers.
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of ELCOP and Director of BILIA.
The welcome address was given by HRSS Director SM Masoom Billah. The vote of thanks was given by Barrister Tapos Kanti Baul, Executive Director of ELCOP.
