Alamgir said that as per information received from media reports and other sources, there is a trend of violation of model code of conduct in these areas. Although the Election Commission has given a notice in this regard, but the candidates and their supporters are showing a tendency to violate the code of conduct.
On the allegation against Ghazipur city Awami League president Azmat Ullah, he said, “The Election Commission has decided to give him a show-cause notice. He will be asked for an explanation and asked to come to the commission to explain the matter.”
As per the instructions of the Election Commission, no candidate can keep more than five persons with him while submitting nomination papers or during any kind of demonstration.
Azmat Ullah did not follow this direction while submitting his nomination papers on 27 April.
He was accompanied by at least 10 leader-workers when the party workers were protesting on the road.
