A total of 229 presiding officers and 1,349 assistant presiding officers will be posted at polling stations. There will also be 2,698 polling officers.
After Rangpur became a municipal corporation, law enforcement agencies have drawn up a six-tier security plan for the elections. Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Noor E Alam Meena said the stations would be manned by armed police battalions and Ansar personnel in plain clothes.
