“Around 80 per cent books have been given to us. We will be able to provide 100 per cent books within this month.”
According to Zakir, as a special initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government has been distributing free books on the first day of the year since 2010. She also called upon parents and teachers to mold primary school students into ‘smart citizens’ who can help embody Hasina’s vision of ‘smart Bangladesh’.
