Spain’s Queen Letizia will be in attendance but Prince William, president of England’s Football Association, has faced criticism for staying home.

“Lioness I want to send you lots of good wishes for tomorrow,” he said in a video with daughter Charlotte sitting next to him.

“We’re sorry we couldn’t be there in person, but we’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and the millions of people you’ve inspired here and around the world.”

Whoever wins, there will be a new name in the Women’s World Cup.

The United States, looking for a third consecutive title, lost to Sweden on penalties in the last 16.

Norway, Germany and Japan are the only other countries to have won the trophy.
