Equal participation of men and women for overall development of the country: PM Hasina International Women's Day

Initially, a documentary on women and the activities of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs was shown.

“Joita” (victorious) is the symbolic name of a woman who overcomes all obstacles and reaches the pinnacle of success, that is, a struggling and indomitable woman.

The government announced the award to Joyetas in five categories: women who achieved success economically, women who achieved success in education and jobs, successful mothers, women who transformed their lives by erasing the dark days of torture , and women who contributed to social development.

Referring to his announcement of building Digital Bangladesh, the Prime Minister said: “We have built Digital Bangladesh, and now we aim to build a smart citizen, smart government, smart economy and smart society by 2041”.

“If women are more involved in this journey of building a smart Bangladesh, we can reach our desired goal faster,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina also mentioned the appointment of the country's first female superintendent of police in Munshiganj district and the recruitment of women in the country's armed forces – Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force – and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
