At least 7,835 leaders and workers of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have been arrested across the country in the last eight days till Saturday.
Among those arrested are top leaders, including more than seven general secretaries, and influential leaders from city and district units, including more than fifty former MLAs.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday afternoon confirmed that they have arrested a total of 2,172 BNP people from the capital city since October 28 in connection with 89 cases registered against them for inciting violence.
