EU eyes special court to prosecute Russia for Ukraine war

‘Come and see for yourself’

Western countries have sent military aid to support Kyiv’s military since the invasion, as well as issuing various other forms of support.

Britain on Wednesday unveiled a new round of sanctions on Russian officials over the war in Ukraine, targeting recent mobilization efforts and those accused of recruiting “criminal mercenaries”.

And German lawmakers approved a motion declaring the starvation of millions of people in Ukraine in the 1930s under Soviet leader Joseph Stalin a “genocide,” adopting language used by Kyiv.

Kyiv honors Ukrainian for the “Holodomor”—”death by starvation”—of 1932–33—a deliberate act of genocide by Stalin’s regime intended to wipe out the peasantry.

At an event organized by the New York Times, Zelensky criticized US billionaire Elon Musk’s proposal to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and invited him to visit his war-torn country.

He said, “If you want to understand what Russia has done here – come to Ukraine and you will be able to see it all yourself.”

“And then you will tell me how to end this war, who started it and when it can be ended.”
