While discussing maritime interests in Bangladesh, ASMA Awal also talked about political interests, economic interests and military aspects.

He said, in the military aspect, there are 2 threats: traditional and non-traditional threats. Climate change is also a major issue that affects the marine sector.

An interactive session was held where the audience shared their views after the discussion. Questions focused on Indo-Pacific strategy, blue economy and its benefits, existing naval structure to protect maritime resources, power and influence of regional and neighboring powers.

The event was attended by former ambassadors, diplomats from embassies in Dhaka, officials from international organizations and academicians.
