Bangladesh suffered an innings defeat in the only Test before losing the ODI series. However, they returned home with a T20I series win over Zimbabwe.
Throughout the tour, Bangladesh’s batsmen had to struggle against Zimbabwe’s pace attack. Despite the change in format, his batting problems remain the same.
Many have blamed the batting unit for the disappointing tour and batting coach Mohammad Ashraful has accepted the responsibility. He believes that the batsmen failed to cope with the extra bounce provided by the Zimbabwean pitches.
Speaking to reporters at the airport after the team returned home today, Ashraful said, “There was extra bounce, and it took us some time to adjust to it. We did not play well in the Test match. By the third ODI, we had adapted. I believe we can prepare in the same way before the 2027 World Cup.”
