After not being nominated, a fabricated quote in his name was circulated, “The BNP removed me from the reserved MP list at the last moment because I demanded justice for Hadi’s assassination.”
Fact-checking revealed that the claim came from a satire page called “Daily Moeller Desh”, whose humorous content was misrepresented as real news.
Additional false statements in the name of Ruqaiya Jahan Chamak were also spread by another satire page named “Gupto Television”.
