BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has condemned the claim by the Detective Branch (DB) of the police that BNP leaders and workers are hoarding arms to sabotage the next general election.
He also called this comment fabricated and politically motivated.
Fakhrul said that the police itself is trying to create such a situation to blame the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
He was speaking at a press conference at the office of the BNP president on Sunday afternoon.
“First the general secretary of Awami League said that there would be terrorism and then the home minister also talked about terrorism. It is you who are resorting to terrorist acts… You have guns, you have pistols. You have the law. You are indulging in terrorism by using the state machinery,” said Fakhrul.
