Extremist blogger Safiur Rehman Farabi, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of science writer and blogger Avijit Roy, was found guilty of charges under the ICT Act and sentenced to seven years in jail.

Dhaka’s Cyber ​​Tribunal judge AM Zulfiqar Hayat also imposed a fine of Tk 20,000 on Farabi on Monday, public prosecutor Nazrul Islam Shamim said. In default of payment of the fine, the convict will have to remain in jail for six more months.
