According to IMDb, an online database of information related to films and television series, the purpose of the film is to establish that terrorists use religion to divide and kill people, while the surviving hostages, all of them also Muslim, fight their own Let’s try to protect humanist values. Farooqi has always maintained that his film was not a depiction of the horrific events that took place in July 2016, but described the film’s script as “inspired by those events”.

Recently, Indian film officials announced the release date of ‘Faraz’, a film directed by Hansal Mehta, which is based on the same militant attack.
