Rafiul Islam, 22, is one of the ten people who were arrested on Saturday from Kulaura in Moulvibazar for their alleged involvement in militancy.
Rafiul’s father Saiful Islam expressed grief, saying, “I am shocked to see that my son’s name is in the list of militants. My heart is filled with pain.”
He said, “I stayed abroad for a long time to bring up children. I was hoping that my son would become an engineer. It didn’t happen, but still I was not disappointed.”
Rafiul is a resident of Majbari village of Kazipur Upazila of Sirajganj. His father is Saiful Islam and his mother is Reba Sultana.
Her father was abroad for a long time while her mother was a member of Mahila Ward No. 4, 5 and 6 (Reserved) of Majdi Sangh Parishad. Rafiul has a younger sister.
