Dengue vaccine has been successfully tested for the first time in Bangladesh. Researchers from the International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research (ICDDR,B) and Lerner College of Medicine of the University of Vermont in the US successfully completed these trials. The news of this success was published in the international journal Lancet on Wednesday.

This vaccine has been named TV-005 (Tetravalent). Speaking to Prothom Alo, Mohammad Shafiul Alam, one of the ICDDR-B scientists involved in the research, said that this is a hopeful case. This is good news considering the wide spread of dengue in the country.
