Fleeing conflict from Myanmar: 114 people including army took refuge in Bangladesh

114 more people, including army, Border Guard Police (BGP) and government officials from Myanmar, have fled to Bangladesh amid fighting between rebel groups including the Arakan Army and the country’s government troops, taking the total number of those who fled since Sunday to 229.

They crossed the Rahmatar Beel border at Palongkhali union council of Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar around 9:00 am on Tuesday. They took shelter at Rahmater Beel post of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

BGB sources said the identification process was underway.
