Flights at Dubai’s airport, previously one of the world’s busiest, were temporarily suspended after a fire broke out nearby due to a “drone-related incident”, city officials said on Monday.

The media office of the Gulf Financial Center said the incident affected a fuel tank, with officials later saying the fire had been extinguished.

The office said no injuries were reported.

“Dubai Civil Aviation Authority announces the temporary suspension of flights at Dubai International Airport as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all passengers and staff,” Dubai’s media office posted on Twitter.
