Foreign Minister Hassan Mahmood today held his first bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Kampala, Uganda.
“The two leaders discussed various issues of mutual interest and ways to take forward the existing excellent bilateral relations between the two countries,” an External Affairs Ministry press release here this evening said.
While Jaishankar congratulated Hasan Mahmood on his new role as Foreign Minister, he also discussed the Bangladesh Foreign Minister’s upcoming visit to New Delhi.
Jaishankar wrote in his X handle (formerly Twitter) after the meeting, “India-Bangladesh relations are continuously strengthening.”
“Looking forward to welcoming him (Hassan) in Delhi soon,” he wrote.
