Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station in-charge (OC) Mohammad Sami Uddin said Khorshed Alam was rescued in a critically injured condition and taken to the emergency department of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
“The body has been kept in the hospital morgue for post-mortem. A police operation is underway to identify and arrest those involved. Witnesses and close associates of the victim are being questioned. A woman who was with him at the time has also been taken into police custody,” the OC said.
According to police and eyewitnesses, two youths attacked Khorshed when he was in Kabita Chattar at night. At one point, he stabbed her multiple times with a knife, injuring her stomach, legs and other body parts.
Tarin, who was with Khorshed at the time, said that while they were in Kabita Chatter, two young men suddenly came and held Khorshed at knifepoint, demanding him to hand over his belongings. At one point they even stabbed him.
