A source in the Gazipur district administration said Benazir and her family own about 181 bighas of land in Kaliganj upazila, but ACC sources said they have got about 50 bighas of land and are continuing to search for more land.
The Benazir family started buying land in Ghazipur in 2017 when Benazir Ahmed was the Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion. Analyzing the land records, ACC officials said that Benazir bought land from people of the minority community in Ghazipur like Gopalganj and Madaripur.
Benazir Ahmed purchased most of the land when she was the IGP from April 2020 to September 2022 and RAB DG from January 2015 to April 2020.
The concerned officials of ACC said that Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUKA) had allotted a plot in Uttara to Zeeshan Mirza's father Mansoor Al-Haq and he gave this land to his daughter. Later, Benazir took a loan of 150 million taka and built a seven-storey house on that land. However, ACC officials said that more money than the loan was needed to complete the construction of the house and the sources of that money will also be investigated.
