He said that amid the current global situation mostly caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the aftershocks of the COVID-19 pandemic, the figures were very good. “I was not surprised to see the figures amid the current global situation. Mannan also said that a strong labor force, both domestically and abroad, continues to provide a solid foundation for the economy.

He also expressed hope that the GDP growth rate in the current financial year and in the next financial year as well would maintain the present pace despite the forecast of decline by the development partners.

The BBS data showed that the size of Bangladesh’s GDP at constant prices in the last financial year (FY22) reached 3,03,51,496 million Tk from 2,83,39,444 million Tk recorded in FY21.
