Amjad Hussain, a farmer by profession, lives in Ghormara area of Magura Municipality. There is a special memory hidden behind his deep attachment towards Germany. Around 2004–05, he suffered from a complex physical illness. He later recovered after taking medicine imported from Germany on the recommendation of a doctor. In gratitude, he decided to create a German flag during the 2006 FIFA World Cup as a symbol of his appreciation.
That year, Amjad made a flag approximately 1.5 kilometers (350 yards) long. Since then, the length of the flag has increased with every World Cup – 2.5 kilometers in 2010, 3.5 kilometers in 2014, 5.5 kilometers in 2018, and 7.5 kilometers in 2022. This year, they have displayed the same 7.5 kilometer long German flag.
