Germany will help Bangladeshi energy sector

Germany has committed to extend more assistance to the development of energy sector in Bangladesh.

The commitment was made when a delegation of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Bangladesh on Energy and Mineral Resources met the German parliamentary friendship group of South Asia headed by Petra Ernstberger at her office in the German Federal Parliament.

Chairman of the committee Mohammad Shubid Ali Bhuiyan MP led the delegation, a press release received here today said.

Other members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee were Chief Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Md Abdus Shahid MP, Abdul Matin Khasru, MP, Abdul Kader Khan MP, and Omor Faruk Chowdhury MP.

During the meeting, the German side expressed their concern on the impact of climate change in Bangladesh and has promised to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation by exchanging visits of the parliamentary groups.
