Ziaul Haque Mrida filed a case against the GM Quad on 4 October.
After this, Dhaka’s Joint District Sessions Judge Court-1 imposed a temporary ban on GM Kader’s political activities on 30 October.
On 6 October, several lawyers including Sheikh Sirajul Islam and Kalim Ullah Mazumdar appeared in the court to plead for the GM Quad to withdraw the ban on their political activities.
In the petition, the lawyers also urged the court to lift the ban on him to perform his role as president as per the party’s constitution, which was rejected by the same court on November 16.
Later, Kadar filed a revision petition in the High Court challenging the trial court’s order.
According to the case statement, the party’s founder HM Ershad passed away on September 14, 2019. Quader declared him the party’s president through forgery in a council on December 28, 2019, when a writ petition case was pending in the High Court.
