The government has canceled the allotment of Awami League’s Central Publicity and Publications Secretary Abdus Shobhan Golap’s bungalow in the Minto Road area of ​​the capital, popularly known as ‘Minister’s Quarters’.

Although he was not a minister, he would still remain there.

The Housing Department, a government agency under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, canceled the allotment and issued a gazette notification in this regard on February 15. Abdus Shobhan was informed by a letter that day.

This bungalow has been allotted to Minister of State for Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Shafiqur Rahman Choudhary.

On 16 February, Abdus Shobhan started shifting his belongings and furniture from the bungalow.

Prothom Alo published a report titled ‘Golap lives in minister’s quarters’ on 1 February.

Abdus Shobhan Golap did not hold any government post. However, he will be staying in a government bungalow, which is usually allotted to ministers or secretaries.
