Government doctors to practice privately in public hospitals: Malek

0 minutes, 32 seconds Read

Health Minister Zahid Malek has said that doctors working in the government will practice in their private rooms after office hours in their hospitals starting from March.

Speaking at a meeting on institutional practice with a unity of professional physicians on Sunday, Malek said the decision was taken after discussing the matter with leaders of the profession.

He said that a high level committee would be constituted to take immediate steps to make this a reality.

He said the “special facility” would allow specialist doctors to examine their patients at their own government workplaces and save hundreds of people the hassle of visiting doctors at clinics and pharmacies.
