Quader said it is a democratic norm to send greetings to any newly elected Prime Minister. “As per the norms of democracy, congratulations are given when someone is elected as the Prime Minister. Everyone is congratulating as per rules. There is nothing new in this,” he said.
AL General Secretary said that after failing to stop the elections, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is burning with jealousy after seeing these congratulatory messages. He said, even though BNP did not participate in the elections, there was about 42 percent voting.
“BNP is burning with jealousy…even though she did not participate in the elections, a large number of people of the country gave the mandate to AL President Sheikh Hasina,” he claimed.
