Great recieption for Bhutan King

Bhutan King has come in Bangladesh in official purpose. Red carpet rolled out as Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck arrived here today on a five- day state visit to Bangladesh at the invitation of President
Zillur Rahman.

The President received the Bhutanese King at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport when he alighted from a special aircraft of Druk Air at 12.12 pm, while a tiny tot presented a bouquet to him.

A 31-gun salute heralded the arrival of Wangchuck. Later, he
was given a guard honour by a smartly turned out contingent drawn from three services of the armed forces.

The Bhutanese King took the state salute and inspected the guard.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Agriculture Minister
Matia Chowdhury, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Food Minister Dr Abdur Razzak, Ambassador At-Large M Ziauddin, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister MA Karim, Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes, concerned secretaries of the President’s Office, chiefs of the three services, the dean of the diplomatic corps, the Bhutanese ambassador in Dhaka and the Bangladesh ambassador in Thimpu and high civil and military officials were also present at the airport.

The President introduced cabinet members and other dignitaries to the Bhutanese King later.

A 17-member delegation including Works and Human Settlement Minister Lyonpo Yeshey Zimba is accompanying Wangchuck.
