It said “masked” migrants were often used to violently push back undocumented entrants.
Pleveris told the Action television channel: “The BBC essentially adopts the views of illegal migrant smugglers,” adding that the report was “science fiction”.
Plevaris, who is known for his anti-immigration stance, said that Greece “will continue to keep its borders closed to the European Union and the United Kingdom.”
An ongoing investigation in 2022 by Lighthouse Reports Media, along with France’s Le Monde, German magazine Allemande der Spiegel and Britain’s The Guardian, alleged similar tactics were used at the Greece-Turkey border.
